Dredging & Pipe Laying

Marine Specialists Limited has a proven track record in the areas of pipe laying and dredging projects,including remedial works to existing pipes and outfalls.

The company own and operate a range of floating plant, long reach excavators (including a 48 tonne PC360 with 18.5m reach and a 61 tonne PC 490 with 22m reach) and associated dredging machinery. Previous projects have included outfall pipe installations, water pipe burial, dredging of harbours and navigation channels, piling and marina installations. Our machines are fitted with 3D GPS systems to enable accurate dredging profiles and trench excavations.

In addition Marine Specialists have established contacts with international dump barge and heavy lift barge providers and are familiar with the associated hire and certification processes which are required.

Marine Specialists can provide an integrated service, offering a one stop shop for all works – pipe welding, diving, trench excavation, diffuser installations, outfall design including buoyancy calculations and pipe ballast requirements. Previous installations include pipes ranging in size from 250mm up to 900mm in diameter. Services also include the design and supply of ballast rings and other associated materials including pipe scour protection and diffuser protection.

Marine Specialists’ also specialise in underwater rock breaking and ripping using equipment including 4 tonne and 2 tonne underwater Rockbreakers.
