Description
The works consisted of:
- Excavation of area around diffuser and outfall pipe using air lift system and barge mounted excavator
- Various repairs to damage & breaks in the existing outfall pipe
- Installation of band clamps to damaged sections of the outfall pipe
- Concrete installation around the repaired sections of the outfall pipe
- Excavation and realignment of intertidal sections of the outfall
- Removal, refurbishment and reinstallation of 10no diffusers

Notes
The project proved a challenge for the dive team principally due to the poor visibility on site. The lack of visibility arose due to the site location, outfall pipe discharge and the nature of the works (excavations using an airlift and concrete pouring to stabilise the seabed for the repair clamps).
